The artist, born in the Russian city of Astrachan, has been living with her family in Germany for more than 10 years now. During her childhood, her mother and her grandmothers taught her to create handmade things by herself. She started to work with beads in 2007 when she was pregnant with her third child. In the beginning she was mainly focused on creating Easter eggs. Most of the techniques she is using today she learned more or less with the help of the Internet, so she calls herself an autodidact. The positive reactions of others to her work boosts her creativity even more. She cites the words of Confucius which apply to her view of life: “Tell me, and I will forget. Show me, and I may remember. Involve me, and I will understand.”
